Lady

Lady

New drawing I did this afternoon in one hour with watercolored pencils and a set of black pencils that I bought in a trip to Lisboa the past week. The dress is inspired by the illuminations of the “Book of Games” by Alfonso X. I’m not really happy with the folds, but I wanted to finish it today.

I want to learn to do good drawings with pencils, colour and b&w, because I’m a little tired of working with photoshop, so I’ll be doing things in small size to practice. I’m very fond of ACEOs, and I like to work small, I don’t get so tired of a drawing as when I have to spent a lot of hours. At the moment I only draw for fun and if I get a little extra money it’s only a plus, so I prefer not to have to force myself to finish anything I don’t like any more. I reserve that for work XD

Redesigning of the web is being a little slow, I seem to have forgotten html… That’s what happens when you stop writing your own websites and relay in WYSWYG web designing programs XD

Dissapeared?

March 20, 2009 by xchan

I’m having some problems managing my internet presence, so I’ll be dissapeared some time until I get a way to do all my projects at the same time (give me from one week to two months).  I’ll be offline working in some incomplete drawings and new projects, and also redesigning my site and working on my shop. Also, my usual work is getting the best of my creativity, so all art related is going reaaaally slow.

Rengalengo finished!

March 8, 2009 by xchan

My little village is inbetween three valleys: Rengalengo, Gorgollón and Reguera. This is the first of the faery drawings I’m doing based in traditional costumes of the area and symbolizing the valleys.

This time I’ve been experimenting with textures and a new coloring style, so it varies greatly with my usual drawings. I like the results, but I think that I have to practice a lot more before I am really happy with it.

I’m working on updating my Dawanda shop with A4 prints of my drawings, including these last two, and I’m also going to revamp my site, so I’m not drawing so much. Also, I have problems with my PC, meaning spending my little free time banging my head against the wall trying to repair it!

Valentine’s day picture!

First year that I’ve been able to finish the Valentine’s day picture before that day! This year I  have two pictures: this and another that I’m trying to have finished before next weekend.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow…

January 13, 2009 by xchan

snow

This is the third time we’ve had snow in the last two months. Usually it snows once in all the winter, and then we get sun and freezing temperatures, but this time we’re getting a really bad winter! Worst of  all is that the road to get to my workplace gets impossible to drive on it. Just the past friday my car slipped in a freezed patch and I crashed with a signal ^^;
I’m hoping that it won’t snow any more this year!

Pullip costumes

January 10, 2009 by xchan

I like to sew. When I was little, my aunt used to gave me scraps of fabric to do costumes for my dolls, and other aunt taught me to sew and do embroidery, and recently I used a sabbatical year after school to go to sewing and patterning classes. In the years after that, I only sew costumes for “carnaval” (similar to halloween, we dress in costumes and go to parties XD), or to repair my clothes, but last year I begun to make costumes for my Taeyang doll, and for my future Pullip. I made a yukata for each, and this is the result:

My first pullip outfit

The doll is my friend’s, and as I don’t have enough money to buy one yet you’ll se her modelling for the next dress I’ll do XD I have a beheaded Pullip body for the measurements, but using it the photos would be a little… macabre XD

I’m not going to post the Taeyang yukata, as it has a lot of mistakes (it’s a little big at the shoulders, and short, and I didn’t sew it very well XD), but as I’m trying to sew him a XIX century outfit, you’ll see photos this year

Happy new year, and new shop!

January 4, 2009 by xchan

Happy new year to all!
I’ve been ill this xmas, so no new drawings yet! Fever is not conductive to inspiration an hard work XD
Fortunately, I’m well now and I’m drawing, painting, and doing a lot more. In fact, I’ve opened my new shop in Dawanda! I don’t have a lot up yet, but I hope to be finished uploading by the 7th (6th january is bank holiday here in Spain, so I’ll be at home working on it!). I don’t think I’ll be using the etsy shop in the near future, they’ve given me too much trouble, and I like Dawanda better because I can post prices in euro.

Problems with Etsy

November 21, 2008 by xchan

I’ve been having problems with the Etsy site since saturday, so I’ve not been able to update it. I’ve talked to the technics of the site, but we haven’t been able to see what the problem is. All other sites I’ve visited work, and I’ve tried with all the navigators I have installed (Firefox, IE and Chrome), so I think the problem is with the site, but I’m not 100% sure. If I can’t resolve this in the weekend, I’ll open an alternative shop at Dawanda.
